Salem

UNORGANIZED TRAIL SYSTEM

Salem, as most people call it, is an unorganized trail system nestled right on the border of Arkansas and Oklahoma. Salem is even less organized than other unorganized trails, with absolutely no parking other than pulling off the road, trails that cut incredibly close to property lines, and questionable legal status. The trail starts on a bridge, one side of the bridge is Oklahoma and the other side is Arkansas. There is trail that starts on the Oklahoma side and there is a trail that starts on the Arkansas side, going in opposite directions.

EXTRA INFORMATION

NMT ICON (10).png

Distance Unknown

These trails are created by other riders, with no governing body, so the total distance is unknown, as no one has currently mapped the trail. There are gravel roads that are mapped, but the trails themselves have not been mapped.

NMT ICON (12).png

Multi-Use

This trail, again, has no governing body so other hobbyists such as swimmers, hikers, fishermen, etc have also found it to be a good place to practice their hobbies as well. Keep an eye out for them, and please don't drive through water people are trying to fish in.

Party Trail

This is a lesser-known trail, leading to it being significantly less busy than other, more popular trails, although due to this trail's ease and proximity to civilization, it becomes a party destination quite often. This means parked vehicles, alcohol, minimal clothing, etc; typically, when this is going on, it is either join them or go home, there won't be much riding.

Decent Connection

T-Mobile and AT&T have been confirmed to mostly work, with some areas of little to no connection, other providers are assumed to perform similarly.

Trailer Appropriate

A trailer would do fine on these trails, given your rig can get it through the mud and creek beds.

Haunting Rumors

There are rumors of Salem being haunted, with some rumors pointing to a suicide involving the bridge, and others pointing towards an accidental death in the area. This rumors could not be proven by Purple60; but we would still like to warn you.

OFF-ROAD (16).png

WHAT WE TOOK: 1987 Chevrolet Blazer

NOTES: The Blazer performed well at the trail; we had plenty of fun but it doesn't pose much of a challenge.
