On July 27th, 2024, Purple60 successfully hosted the first RC Roundup. The event went very well; there was a decent turnout, plenty of food, and lots of fun!
At the RC Roundup, we had a large area taped off for high speed and stunts, a Mini Rock Crawler table with free RC rentals, and a large track for Trophy Truck RC cars, also with free rentals. The school it was hosted at had multiple rock piles for water runoff, which were utilized as rock crawler courses; we also had the parking lot blocked off for more high-speed, stunts, and racing.
Purple60 got help from Heather Keenen Real Estate, American Drive-In, Arvest Bank, and Legacy Bank as sponsors. NWA R/C Raceway of Rogers, AR, came out to help host the event and play with RC cars, of course. Happy Hearts came out to sell donuts and hot dogs to attendees (they were really good btw), Bright Futures came out and sold raffle tickets to raise money for students' shoes, and CentralEMS and Lincoln Fire Department came out for our safety; we really really appreciate all of these businesses and organizations for sponsoring and coming out, this event couldn't have been possible without them!
We want to thank our Staff and Volunteers: Morgan Lindsey, Weston Lindsey, Monty Lindsey, Wendy Lindsey, Anthony Ellis, and Keagan Thorpe. These people all got a free shirt.
We also want to give a huge thanks to Lincoln Schools for allowing us to use their facilities for this event!
